Maintenance

Looking After Your Snooker Cloth

Cloth is the most frequently replaced part of a snooker table — and the most abused. A few simple habits will double its working life.

Brush daily, or at least weekly

Chalk dust is abrasive. Brush from the baulk end toward the black end, never in circles.

Rotate the bed cloth

Every few months, rotate the bed cloth 180° to even out wear from the break area.

Control humidity

Wool cloth reacts to moisture. Keeping the room between 40–60% relative humidity keeps the cloth consistent.
